Here is the finished tomahawk. The head was forged from an old bolt I found on the tracks. Hand-hammered, coal-fired. Handle of local windfall pecan. Vegetable tan cowhide wrap and sheath, treated with neetsfoot oil and beeswax. The wedge was made from the tail of a file I had ruined in the forge. My first attempt at an axe, and I am happy with it. Many thanks to David Burnette for instruction and assistance.
